Chinto

In this section, I will write out the entire kata for you. Hint: the whole kata is on a 45 degree angle. Hint: when I say palm facing towards you, I mean your palm facing a direction even if its in a fist. Don’t assume it is an open hand.

Bow
Hands up, close right hand into fist
Bow
Spread feet shoulder wide (Seisan stance)
Once in stance, brings hands out one fist above thighs with palms facing thighs (hands are at a slight angle)
Look to your left at a 45 degree angle
Bring right hand to ear, left hand to thigh (one fist above thigh)
Open hands
Step back at a 45 degree angle into cat stance
Cross arms three fists away from body (cross them so that when you pull your hands to your chin, it fits inside the ‘V’ shape
Twist hands (I will post a video of this)
Catch for a backfist to the ribs, with left hand at right shoulder, and right hand on belt
Slide into a front stance (right foot in front)
Backfist to ribs with left hand
Make a new fist with right hand
Slide into a Seisan stance (left foot in front)
Reverse punch
Cross hands solar plexus high, one fist away from the body (right hand closest to you)
Look over your shoulder to your right at a 45 degree angle
Lift left foot up in spin (foot position = front kick = toes up, foot angled down)
With foot still up, with your body in a 45 degree angle, catch your right hand at your left shoulder, your left hand at your right hip
Put foot down into deep horse stance
Block (this is when your left hand is by your head, with your fist head high, and your elbow in a right angle, then your left hand is one fist above your thigh with palm facing away from you)
Catch left hand on right shoulder, right hand at right hip
Look forward, then look over your right shoulder backwards (all at a 45 degree angle)
Lift your left leg, and spin right, so you land facing the same direction at a 45 degree angle in a Seisan stance
Low block with your left hand (one fist above thigh)
Bring right hand to ear, then open both right and left fists
Slide into a cat stance
Lift your left leg up in a fake front kick
Then jump front kick (right) , front kick (left)
Hands catch a right hip with right fist on top of left fist
Land in a Seisan stance with left foot in front
Block = cross block = arms crossed between wrist and elbow, right hand on top, to block a front kick
Bring hands back to stack on right hip
Look over right shoulder
Turn back foot (right foot) out, then slide into a Seisan stance with left foot in front
Block = cross block = arms crossed between wrist and elbow, right hand on top, to block a front kick
Bring right hand to right hip, and left hand to left hip
Lift right leg up, and spin to parry a kick, and land in Seisan stance with right foot in front
Punch with right hand, then step into new Seisan with left leg in front, then punch with left hand
Open left hand, and strike right elbow into palm
Then catch at your left shoulder with your right hand, and your right hip with your left hand
Open hands so palms face into your body
Relax muscles by slightly lifting your right foot, left foot, and then right foot again
Guard (right hand at solar plexus with wrist bent, palm facing left, and left hand out in guard with wrist slightly bent with palm facing right)
Quickly bring right leg into the crook of your knee with toes perpendicular with knee, and the second your leg touches your knee, you twist your hand from your guard, so that your right hand is facing down, and your left hand is facing up
Then you land in a horse stance at a 45 degree angle with your right leg behind you
At the same time you swing your arms so that you strike with your right hand behind you (pretend as if your left hand is attached to your right hand by string, so they move together, but your left hand never strikes; you do this because you don’t want to strain your muscles by sending each arm in a different direction)
Then you lift your right leg back up in a front kick foot position while swinging arms back around (right hand goes to left shoulder)
When you land in a horse stance at a 45 degree angle with your right foot in front, which is when you strike with your right hand
Hint: remember that the hands are ‘attached’, so one hand isn’t swinging randomly, but also this is a flowing motion, so althought I list several moves, there is no stopping, and it just flows
Turn into a front stance
Then, you catch both of your hands at your temple with your hands open, and both of your palms facing your opponent
Strike the collarbone with the fatty part of your hand (below your pinky) hitting the collarbone
Catch with your hands in front of your face with your elbow and arms touching, and hands in fists, with palms facing your nose
Look over your left shoulder
Slide into a horse stance
Strike with your fists facing each other, and your elbows bent out slightly
Catch your left hand at your hip, and your right hand open at the pelvic bone with the palm facing right
Look over your right shoulder at a 45 degree angle
As you swing your right arm around, you scrape the eyes, then end in a chickend-head grab
Reach your left hand up to your ear (in a fist) and hammerfist your hand in the grab
Reach out with your right hand in front left shoulder high (your hands are palm on palm, with palms facing out)
Close your right hand, and as your bring in to your left shoulder, you twist your fist, so that your thumb is in the center of your palm
Look over your right shoulder
Pick your right foot up, and spin so that you land in a Seisan stance at a 45 degree angle with your left foot in front
Then you catch your right hand at your left shoulder, and your left hand in front of your pelvic bone, your palm facing you (both hands are fists)
Strike = twist right leg into the crook of left knee, so your weight is 90-10 on your front foot (left foot is in front) = left hand horizontal at solar plexus, and right hand one fist above thigh, in a double-boned low block
