Class was fine last night, I was told all about the breathing techniques in my kata. The tournament is coming up on April 30th. Ahhh! I am so excited!
In class, I learned about how to distract your opponent. You repeat a certain technique a few times, and then you do the same technique, except instead of a punch at the end you use a kick and vice versa. For example, if you were to revere punch to the body, and then lunge punch to the head, three different times, you would see how your opponent reacts, so you know how to change it the next time to avoid your opponent blocking your strike. Also, if you were to do a reverse punch, lunge punch a few times, the next time you would do a reverse punch, front kick. Get it?! Pretty awesome right? I cannot wait to try it!
